Full Moon in Virgo: Knight of Pentacles, Reversed

“A force of nature, not diverted from the wrong path,” facade.com says about the Knight of Pentacles, Reversed.

On February 29, tornadoes ripped across three states in the Midwestern United States.

To me, the Knight of Pentacles, Reversed expresses physical incompatibilities and emotional obstinacy.  The Capricorn/Taurus correlation leads me to look up where the ruling planets of those two signs are, and where they might be in relationship to the Moon at this time.

Cafe Astrology gives a “This week in astrology” report (sorry, no permalink) and has this to say about the Full Moon in Virgo: “Some sort of crisis (which can be a crisis of consciousness) or sudden awareness of a lack in our lives provides us with a golden opportunity to explore our emotional needs within the context of the house polarity where the Full Moon occurs in our natal charts. This Full Moon urges us to strike a balance between work and service, practicality and impracticality, criticism and acceptance.”

This sense of balance lines up with the Knight of Pentacles, reversed. In his persona, we see the crisis point attributed to this Full Moon. This Knight has gotten confused about what service is. He either martyrs himself to be able to brag to others about what a good person he is, or he maintains a fixed level of self-aggrandizement and denial that there could be anything he needed to change about himself. Turned inward, he reflects our own tendency to be confused in looking at ourselves. The solution for this is simple: opening up the heart space to loving communication from the Universe about what we can do in the moment to bring the situation to its highest and best potential that we can. This ideal-sounding scenario, our highest and best potential for the moment, is never going to be truly perfect. We will always have our own faults and other people’s choices, to add to the equation. However, as a consequence of increased mindfulness, we will find ourselves noticing the naturally perfect moments in time that are constantly happening.

So, what’s so out of balance, right now? What would be lending a hard aspect to Capricorn’s ruler, Saturn? Is it simply that time, as it heals all wounds, also has the power to dull some connections that at first seem to sparkle? Could this be a case of burnout, synchronizing with the rather large solar storm that happened in tandem with this Full Moon? The Knight of Pentacles, reversed can also move sluggishly, or represent that force of nature which just will not divert from its course.

Toward the end of the section on ‘this week in astrology’ is a section on aspects and relationships of planets with each other, where I found this: “VenusoppositionSaturn Venus opposition Saturn. We keep others at arm’s length, unsure of whether we are loved or not. This is a somewhat inhibiting influence when it appears that people value utility over true love. An element of seriousness permeates our love relationships. We may feel criticized and inhibited, unloved and unsatisfied, but our worst enemies may be ourselves and our own fears of getting close to others. Not a good influence for financial endeavors. Burdens are magnified.”
